May, 2014 Newsletter

In April we celebrated Ashley, Carly, Caleb, and Stasia’s birthdays. Liam D., Addy, and Naqiyah were Miss Laura’s Star Students and made fantastic presentations!

In April our morning themes were Bunnies/Eggs, Spring, Earth Day, and Mother’s Day.  They were each enhanced with literacy, science, social studies, and math components. Our full day students rotated between afternoon weeks of math, language, social studies, and science, with literacy activities mixed in everyday with themes of science (recycling), literacy B is for Bear (Miss Tiffany) the author Julia Donaldson (Miss Laura), social studies (pancakes), and math (Kite Math).   In May our morning themes of study will be caterpillars and butterflies, ponds, gardens, and bugs. Each week there will be a new letter of the week based on our theme.   Our afternoon themes will be Bouquet of Math (Math), Respect (Social Studies), Animal Coverings (Science), and Writing Activities (Literacy).

All of this week we are working on Mother’s Day activities to get ready for our annual Mother’s Day Tea on Friday, May 9th!  If it is not your child’s regular day, please come with him/her from 10:00-10:45 that morning.
