November, 2011 Newsletter
October was a fun-filled, busy month as we had Meridian Healthcare come and present us with Hopscotch the Bunny teaching us about good nutrition and healthy habits, the Stafford Lion’s Club doing eye screens for us, and a Back to School Night for the parents. Many of you enjoyed our first Friday Night Babysitting program! We will schedule another one in the beginning of December so you can get some holiday shopping in. We celebrated several birthdays in both classes and honored Sophia as our first Star Student in Miss Laura’s class. Many of our themes of study were Halloween-related. We look forward to our Halloween parade, pumpkin picking, and party on Halloween Day! Thank you for all of your party donations.
In the month of November, Miss Tiffany’s class will be delving into the themes of pumpkins, turkeys, children’s authors, and Thanksgiving. Miss Laura will be studying the classics- Where the Wild Things Are and Three Billy Goats Gruff, Thanksgiving, turkeys, and a unit on Native Americans. In the afternoons, some of our themes will be pies, activities around the book Rosie’s Walk, and the city and country. We will culminate our Thanksgiving studies with our annual Thanksgiving Feast which will take place on Wednesday, November 23rd. Parents are welcome to this festivity, and more information will come home shortly.
Please remember to be on time for your child’s pick up. We have a very organized, tight schedule which functions well but relies on your cooperation!
Fundraisers are due November 1st. I have been looking into some more interesting programs for our kids such as a visit from a children’s author and a magic show. Your participation will ensure some great visitors!
Please remember that tuition is due on the 1st of each month. After the 5th of the month there will be a $10 late charge added on. As the weather is getting colder, please remember that we do go outdoors each day, weather permitting, and your help in labeling your child’s jacket, hat, etc. is appreciated.
Reminder: School is closed during the week of November 7th!
And finally, just a reminder to check every so often on our website, www.happydayspreschoolnj.com, for pictures of your kids in action. We very much appreciate your referrals and give $100 referral awards.
